From sketch to master design

When you did your homework you have already drawn a map of your garden with all structures, features, sun and shade. And hopefully you have a lot of empty space, to fill in your wishes. :-)

The best thing you can do is to think in functions, what is the best space for the sitting areas in the shade, where will the vegetables do best, what is the best place to put the barbecue (wind) and is that convenient with the area for dining. What would be the best place for the playing equipment. Is there really room for that swimming pool or is an inflatable little pool more realistic.

Think about paths to the areas and features along the path. Don't forget storage space!

Draw up a working sketch and keep your wish list nearby you don't have to draw it in detail, for this moment you only have to look and sketch possibilities.

When you think, this is it!, gather the family and make a decision which fits best to your, and your family's needs. Make sure that you have placed all the areas and functions from your lists roughly on your map and that it fits correctly with your measurements, sun exposure etc. That is the sketch we are going to use for the master plan...
